These sessions, the first experienced without parents, offer the children the opportunity to develop independence and the confidence to initiate interaction and build relationships with teachers and fellow 'Minims' through joint music making and movement activities. They will begin to provide opinions about and compare music that they have heard; building on their music-related vocabulary in the context of composition and rhythmic tasks. The children will continue to build on their repertoire of songs, rhymes and dances as well as their familiarity with varying styles and genres of music.
The children will regularly participate in group singing leading to performances. The curriculum is directly linked to that which they will experience at school.
